The Christmas spirit is upon us and our family has decided on the perfect gift. We know that there are different religions, beliefs, and different holidays that everyone celebrates, but this gift is a gift from the heart so will be good for everyone to participate. Our family celebrates Christmas and has decided to start a campaign that we will call "Kacie's Miracle Gift".

"Kacie's Miracle Gift" is all about helping others. Our goal is to have over 1000 hours of volunteer time given to helping others during the holidays. Every time you volunteer some time, please send a message to kacie@kacieskrusade.org and tell us how many hours you volunteered, the name of the organization or name of the person you helped, when you helped them, and how you helped them. We will be keeping a journal of all the great helpers! Please let the organization or person you help know that you are volunteering on behalf of Kacie Goodwin and "Kacie's Miracle Gift".

Some suggestions are as follows:

• Call a local organization and ask how you can help them.
• Offer to help someone with baking, shopping, or decorating.
• Baby-sit for someone while they do their shopping.
• Adopt a less fortunate family and make their holidays brighter.
• Gather a group of friends and go sing at a convalescent home or in the halls at the hospital.
• Make or purchase some gifts and take to children that will be in the hospital over the holidays.
• Donate Christmas videos and games to local hospitals.
• Give a life-warming gift by donating blood to the Red Cross.
• Give the gift of life by joining the National Bone Marrow Registry.

These were just a few suggestions that we thought would help spread joy and happiness throughout the world. This gift is very important to our family because the only thing Kacie wants is for everyone to be happy. Whenever you can make someone smile and giggle, the miracles will follow.
